A good friend of mine was getting married and his fiance asked me to make their “guestbook”. Here’s the inspiration she gave me (from Pintrest)…

This “guestbook” will basically be a shallow shadow box. Instead of signing a traditional guestbook you would sign a limb cut-off and drop it into the frame. Kinda like Plinko on Price is Right.

The first step is to make a basic frame and to add spacers, which in this case is scrap pallet wood because it’s never seen. I just had to plane them down to thickness of the limb cut-offs they were using. I also had to leave a gap for the limb cut-offs to drop into the frame and a top piece with a slot cut out to accept the cut-offs…

Here is the finished product with glass and burlap backdrop. I added my personal touch, with some barbed wire and also with the actual cut-offs signed by the wedding goers…
